Trading Out Your Long Irons for a Hybrid

For many golfers, particularly those who have a fair amount of skill, one of the most common flaws in one’s golf game is hitting a long and straight long iron. Often, the three and four irons are tough for golfers to hit with a fair amount of power, leaving a deficiency in a player’s otherwise solid golf game.
Thanks to the advent of hybrid technology, the long irons can now be replaced with a more forgiving club that a typical golfer can hit farther and straighter than the typical long iron. The hybrid combines the loft angle of a three or four iron (usually twenty two to twenty four degrees) with the head of a long wood, allowing there to be a larger face for contact with the ball.
Golfers who have had concerns with their long game have successfully switched to a hybrid club and seen their scores drop along the way. Many golfers who have made the switch notice the biggest advantage is the ability to put more power into swinging a hybrid, allowing them to eke out a few more yards which is for them is a much better spend of money than investing in more golf accessories. Additionally, the higher ball flight makes the hybrid a better option for taking a shot at an elevated green as opposed to using a traditional wood.
