Planning a Local Golf Outing for Charity
Jul 18th, 2009 by admin
Golfing outings are a way to raise cash for associations and charities. With all of the competition today, good planning is crucial. A golfing outing includes 3 parts : Registration, the golf itself and the award party.
If this is your first golfing outing, you need to permit at least 9 months to a year for planning. It’s superb to have a positive attitude but golfing outings need a lot of work. The less efficient your board is, the more cash you want to spend out of the profits to run the outing.
One of the first things you would like to do is form a board. If this is your first outing, your panel should consist of five or 6 members. You will need to have members who are useful and will get the work done. It is useful if some of your panel members are golfers.
For the outing that continues yearly, remember that all too frequently committees have the same members.
Having the same members year on year may cause your organization to be stuck in a groove. When presented with new ideas, ask “why not” rather than “why”.
After selecting the date, securing the venue (golf course) and providing for food and drink, you need to focus on acquiring some golf tournament gifts and awards. Moreover you’ll need to seek out some free publicity for your event. Both need to be done at very low cost so you can preserve the bulk of what you collect from participants to donate to charity. For the awards and gifts, look locally for donations.
