This is an ongoing tips page for things you need to consider when planning a golf event. Ongoing because we’ll be adding more and more tips as we go along so stop back frequently for more tournament tips.
First, start early. If you can, planning a year in advance is advisable. Many golf courses are booked annually in advance so by starting early you are assured you’ll have an optimal location for your event. If you are going to serve a luncheon, dinner or even hors d’ourves be sure that you discuss with the club facility if you must rely on their services or whether you can book your own catering. And the trophies for your golf tournament should be ordered at least 2 months in advance to give yourself time for logo artwork finalization, scheduling the job and shipping to you.
It’s always a fun and useful idea to print up the golf rules you will be using during your event. Whether it’s ‘Best Ball’ or ‘Best Shot’ be sure all particpants know what the rules are.
